How can teachers create an environment that provides students an opportunity to grapple with challenging mathematical tasks? Students need exposure to these rich tasks.Their success in problem solving arises from allowing them time to productively struggle. By attending this session, teachers will learn how to give students meaningful experiences that promote making sense of problems. They will also practice techniques which help students persevere through challenging and engaging mathematics. *This is a repeat of Session 4C (Friday, February 24, 2:50 pm - 4:20 pm, Embassy Suites, Embassy C).
